About the Role

Sir Robert McAlpine is seeking a highly skilled Project Planning Manager to lead the planning and project controls function on tenders, projects, or programs of works within our industrial Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the project planning and controls function, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of projects.
  • Staff management, development, and coaching responsibility, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Develop and maintain programs, project controls deliverables, and other time-related materials in conjunction with colleagues and key stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients, professional teams, and supply chain partners.
  • Contribute to pre-contract planning and work-winning initiatives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of strategic planning and project management systems, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Implement robust project controls, accurate reporting, and forecasting, providing early warnings and exceptions reporting.
Requirements
  • Excellent planning skills with a detailed understanding of construction methods and techniques.
  • A can-do attitude, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven tender planning experience, with a strong track record of delivery phase planning and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of NEC3 or 4, with advanced knowledge of planning techniques, including BIM model alignment into P6 (4D planning) via Synchro or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and techniques in the field of heavy civils.
