Job Description

Role Overview

The Piping Engineer Construction Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of piping engineering construction activities on site. This position will be responsible for coordinating with the construction team to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring that construction activities are executed without blockers to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess Field Change Requests (FCRs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) issued by the construction team, ensuring that they contain sufficient information for proper assessment and remediation.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to propose remediation plans and ensure that they are relevant and achievable.
  • Establish and maintain regular communication with the construction team to review trends in FCRs and NCRs, identify areas for improvement, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate the flow of communication between the construction team and the Front Office organisation to ensure that relevant information is shared and that FCRs and NCRs are properly documented.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the construction contractor to resolve technical queries and close open points.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in an equivalent or related role in the construction industry.
  • Meticulous and rigorous approach to engineering to achieve high professional standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure smooth communication with stakeholders.
  • Strong people leadership skills to coordinate efficient delivery of the construction team.
  • Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders and work autonomously.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree in a related engineering field.
  • Chartered Engineer with a relevant engineering institute.
  • Detailed understanding of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) design and experience in PWR operations.
  • Working knowledge of French language an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
