Job Description

Role Overview

The Piping Engineer Construction Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of piping engineering activities on site. This position will be responsible for coordinating with the construction team to identify and resolve technical issues, ensuring that construction activities are executed without blockers to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and assess Field Change Requests (FCRs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) issued by the construction team, ensuring that they are properly characterized and contain sufficient information for assessment.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to develop remediation plans for FCRs and NCRs, ensuring that they are relevant and achievable.
  • Propose delegation levels for FCR and NCR treatment, ensuring that the construction team has the necessary resources to execute activities efficiently.
  • Establish regular communication with the construction team to review FCR and NCR trends, identify areas for improvement, and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate the flow of communication between the construction team and the Front Office organization, ensuring that relevant information is shared in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to the construction contractor to resolve technical queries and close open points.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in an equivalent or related role in the construction industry.
  • Meticulous and rigorous approach to engineering to achieve high professional standards.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure smooth communication with stakeholders.
  • Strong people leadership skills to coordinate efficient delivery of the construction team.
  • Ability to influence a diverse range of stakeholders and work autonomously.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Degree in a related engineering field.
  • Chartered Engineer with a relevant engineering institute.
  • Detailed understanding of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) design and experience in PWR operations.
  • Working knowledge of the French language.
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
