About the Role

Vulcain Engineering - UK is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Nuclear Project Engineer - Piping Coordination to join our team in the South West of England. As a key member of our Technical Communities, you will play a crucial role in supporting the UK Government's strategy of Net Zero by contributing to the mega-infrastructure, Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).

Key Responsibilities
  • FCR and NCR Management: Review and assess Field Change Requests (FCR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) issued by the construction team, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various stakeholders to identify and resolve technical topics, including FCR and NCR, through characterisation, remediation, and delegation.
  • Information Coordination: Coordinate with Front Office and Construction Teams to facilitate smooth information flow, request additional details, and ensure thorough communication.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and expertise to close all open points / technical queries raised by contractors.
  • Escalation and Decision-Making: Provide a decisive escalation route for deadlocked issues and innovative solutions, advocating for pragmatic decision-making.
  • Technical Risk Management: Manage technical risk and support engineering services for HPC with a focus on value engineering and optimisation.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree in engineering or science, with chartership in that discipline (if applicable).
  • Piping-Mechanical installation and piping design experience.
  • Broad experience in the nuclear industry.
  • FCR and NCR management experience.
  • On-site experience in a highly regulated environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholders.
