Specialist Practitioner (NHS AfC: Band 6) - Adult Mental Health

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialist Practitioner to deliver mental health support to a marginalized client group who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.

The role will involve organizing mental health drop-in sessions, street outreach, signposting, and specific support to the homeless community. The Specialist Practitioner will work with high levels of risk and people with enduring trauma.

The difficulties experienced by this population can include complex physical and mental health difficulties.

The role will help shape the growth of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) and Trauma-Informed Practice amongst the multi-agency partnership within the homeless arena.

  • Demonstrate a keen interest and general understanding of working in homelessness and the unique challenges that this presents.
  • Incorporate a pre-treatment approach for clinical interventions and project leadership, including clinical triages and assessments.
  • Support the individual who has experienced homelessness to establish a level of stability to engage in trauma-informed care.
  • Support in the development of Psychologically Informed Environments (PIE) across the city of Hull and support local networks to develop the necessary skills to work within this framework.
  • Liaise with partner agencies and help them to understand how best to support traumatised people.

We are an award-winning and CQC-rated good health and social care Trust delivering integrated services across Hull, East and North Yorkshire.

We recognize the positive value of diversity and promote equality whilst challenging discrimination.

Work-life balance is about having influence and flexibility over when, where and how you work.

We offer a unique range of benefits that go above and beyond other NHS Trusts, including an enhanced leave package and health and wellbeing support.
