We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be working as a Band 6 Senior Nurse primarily on the Section 136 suite, providing clinical leadership and expertise in mental health law and policy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the complexities of mental health law, particularly in relation to detentions under s136. They will be able to provide guidance and support to staff, ensuring that the rights of detained patients are maintained and appropriate care is identified.

The role will involve working as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing nurse leadership and ensuring timely and effective assessment, formulation, planning, and monitoring of care given to inpatient service users.

The successful candidate will have a postgraduate qualification in mental health nursing and will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of health and safety policies and procedures, as well as knowledge and practice of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983.

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse qualification
  • Postgraduate qualification in mental health nursing
  • Strong understanding of health and safety policies and procedures
  • Knowledge and practice of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Mental Health Act 1983
