Are you an experienced IT professional looking for a challenging role in software asset management? We are recruiting for an IT Software Asset Management Specialist to join our team at CV-Library. As a key member of our infrastructure and operations team, you will be responsible for the monitoring and control of software asset management activities to provide full visibility of these assets.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in ITIL framework and IT asset management best practices, with experience working with asset management tools and platforms such as ServiceNow. You will also be able to analyse data and trends to drive improvements and cost reduction, and have a solid understanding of software lifecycle management.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced IT professional to join our team and contribute to the development of service charge models, depreciation schedules, and maintenance of the SAM register. You will work closely with IT governance teams to ensure SAM risks are identified, analysed, mitigated, and escalated appropriately.

Duties / Responsibilities
  • Defining an IT software asset strategy
  • Maintaining a comprehensive inventory of all software assets, ensuring accurate tracking from acquisition through to disposal.
  • Maximising the ROI of all software assets by managing the end-to-end software lifecycle, ensuring that the right products are purchased, deployed, re-harvested, and retired timely.
  • Managing the renewal process for software subscriptions and agreements, ensuring that there is a detailed list of all software licences and subscription renewals, including expiration dates and renewal periods.
  • Analysing asset data and trends to ensure we are using all licences effectively and identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and risk mitigation.
  • Identifying and implementing appropriate control activities to ensure that IT is compliant with the T&Cs of its software assets.
  • Providing IT software asset management support and guidance to IT and business users.
  • Creating and maintaining IT asset management policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Planning and carrying out stakeholder management activities and being an effective advocate for SAM at all levels of the organization.
