Job Title: Engineering Manager - Product Safety

Location: Flexible working arrangements available.

Salary: Competitive salary dependent on experience.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to support the production of the safety Build Assurance Justification. The successful candidate will review and ascertain the appropriateness of the Safety Argument and Safety Evidence provided by BAE and ensure that the platform is being built to design intent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the production of the safety Build Assurance Justification.
  • Review and ascertain the appropriateness of the Safety Argument and Safety Evidence provided by BAE.
  • Liaise with the Barrow Safety Assurance Manager on any concessions where the Platform build differs from design intent.
  • Act as the MOD technical liaison with Platform and Nuclear Propulsion build committees.
  • Provide the safety interface with the propulsion/reactor/ships/weapons Test Groups.

Requirements:

  • Strong stakeholder management skillsets and experiences with senior board levels.
  • Programme management experience.
  • Previous experience in build assurance or maritime platforms of complex systems.
  • Good experience of technical risk management/governance procedures.
  • Degree within a STEM subject.

About the Role:

This is a key role within the Dreadnought Alliance, a collaboration between Rolls-Royce, BAE Systems (BAES) and the Ministry of Defence to deliver the 'Dreadnought Class SSBN' programme. The scope of the Dreadnought Programme is the delivery of four SSBNs to the Royal Navy to maintain Continuous At Sea Deterrence (CASD).
