Key Role Summary

This is a highly valued and key role within the UK Raytheon business, supporting a functional team. As a contracts and commercial specialist, you will work as a sole expert for a significant programme, providing contractual and commercial governance to your team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Business Case Development: Produce business case briefings and financial reporting for senior reviews.
  • Contract Review and Approval: Review and approve contracts, gates, financial changes, and other relevant documents within your delegation.
  • Contract Negotiation: Provide full support and leadership to contract/agreement negotiations.
  • Bid and Proposal Development: Provide team support to development, approval, and issuance of bids and proposals.
  • Commercial Risk Management: Provide guidance on establishing commercial risk and effective mitigation.
  • Process Compliance: Ensure processes are followed effectively.
  • Issue Resolution: Resolve all commercial issues promptly and effectively as the point of escalation.
  • Change and Improvement Champion: Be the champion of change and improvement.
Essential Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
  • Commercial Awareness: Excellent commercial awareness, business principles, and governing law.
  • Contracting Experience: Experience in all aspects of both commercial and defence contracting.
  • Problem-Solving and Leadership: Excellent record of problem-solving with an ability to drive performance through others.
  • Communication and Relationship Building: Excellent communicator and relationship builder at all levels with both internal and external customers.
  • Self-Motivation and Independence: Positive, self-motivated, and the ability to work independently.
  • Travel Requirements: A willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
Desirable Requirements
  • Accreditation: Accreditation in Commercial and Supply Chain management.
  • Security Clearance: Eligible to obtain security clearance (SC) beyond baseline personnel security standard (BPSS).
  • Programme Management Skills: Strong programme management skill set - Risk Management/Programme Metrics.
  • International Experience: Experience of working with international suppliers or customers.
