Job Title: Warehouse Shift Manager

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Shift Manager will oversee teams within the Warehouse and motivate employees to achieve productivity and service KPIs. Ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety within the Warehouse are maintained and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and motivate the shift team to ensure productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
  • Lead a team of Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives in their daily workload.
  • Ensure orders are picked, marshalled, unloaded, and loaded in line with Customer specifications.
  • Uphold the highest possible levels of health, safety, and hygiene to comply with legislative and quality requirements.
  • Deliver communication briefings to keep all shifts informed of Company and local issues.
  • Manage the goods inwards area to ensure receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods.
  • Develop team members to maximize their contributions to the Warehouse and create a structured succession plan.
  • Carry out disciplinary and grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure.
  • Monitor and control sickness absence levels and conduct return-to-work interviews.
  • Monitor and control time and attendance.
  • Plan manpower effectively to run the shift efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Enforce and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of health and safety representation on shift.
  • Support Management in ad-hoc duties within the Warehouse function.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment.
  • Good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operation.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
  • Ability to motivate and manage a large team.
  • Effective prioritization of workload to meet set deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong and effective communication at all levels.
  • Proactive and able to make decisions.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
