As the Evening Warehouse Operations Supervisor, you will report directly to the Operations Manager and oversee teams within the warehouse, inspiring and guiding employees to achieve their best.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and motivate the shift team to ensure productivity and service targets are met or surpassed.
- Supervise a team of Team Leaders and Warehouse Operatives in their daily tasks.
- Ensure that orders are accurately picked, marshalled, unloaded, and loaded according to customer specifications.
- Uphold the highest standards of health, safety, and hygiene to comply with legislative and quality requirements, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed and maintained.
- Conduct communication briefings to keep all shifts informed of company and local matters, encouraging employee input and suggestions for improvement.
- Develop team members to maximize their contributions to the warehouse, creating a structured succession plan.
- Monitor and manage sickness absence in accordance with company policy, conducting return-to-work interviews effectively.
- Plan manpower effectively, ensuring appropriate levels of overtime and agency staff to run shifts efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Enforce adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Oversee training for teams, ensuring adequate health and safety representation on shift, including First Aiders and Fire Marshalls.
- Assist management with any additional duties within the warehouse function.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience in a similar position within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
- A solid understanding of warehouse and logistics operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
