TB Program Specialist

Location: Wellington, Somerset with flexible working arrangements. Regular travel required, predominantly across Devon & Cornwall.
*Salary: £33,000 per annum, plus company car or car allowance.
Contract Type: Up to 2 years Fixed Term Contract
Working Hours: Core hours are 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 0900 – 1700. Due to the nature of the role, there will be a need for flexibility around working hours, to include some unsociable hours in the evening.
About the Role:This TB program specialist position plays a critical role in the delivery of the NFU's strategic aim of eradicating Bovine TB. The successful candidate will co-ordinate the delivery of a large-scale badger vaccination project in the Southwest, providing specialist advice, knowledge, and support to NFU colleagues and members on various TB control measures.
The role requires working closely with landowners, farmers, and other key stakeholders, bringing together results to help influence and develop an evidence-based approach to future delivery.

To succeed in this role, you will have a relevant degree and proven expertise in your specialist area, ideally with an agricultural background and experience working with farmers or food producers. You will also possess strong communication and negotiation skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to research, analyze, and collate complex issues clearly.
