Job Description:

Thorn Baker Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Advisor to join our team. As an Environmental Advisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) excellence on our clients' sites across the South West.

About the Role:

  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement Environmental Management Systems (EMS) to minimize environmental impact.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate environmental risks and opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance, including waste management, water usage, and air quality.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and community groups.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to promote environmental best practices.
  • Manage and oversee environmental monitoring equipment and data collection.
  • Liaise with community liaison officers to address environmental concerns.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in environmental management, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of environmental legislation and principles of EMS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Determination to see tasks through to completion, with excellent planning and organization skills.

Person Specification:

  • On-site experience within the construction industry.
  • A formal environmental qualification.
  • Other formal Health, Safety, or Environmental training or auditing qualifications would be advantageous.
  • A full driving license.
  • Good communication, self-motivation, and ambition to succeed.
  • Willingness to take ownership of workload.
