Principal Estate Manager

The Principal Surveyor is a key position within our Corporate Estates team, responsible for delivering high-value asset management services to our corporate portfolio.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a caseload of high-value asset management, utilizing landlord and tenant expertise to maximize value from the estate.
- Provide technical and expert advice to council services and directorates on complex service delivery improvements, including occupancy agreements and procurement of specialist valuation reports.
- Lead on complex negotiations for leasehold acquisitions and disposals, licenses, easements, and wayleaves, making recommendations to the Senior Asset Manager.
- Assist the Senior Asset Manager in managing the capital receipts program and providing reports to the Asset Management Review Group on council-owned land and property.
- Manage the asset valuation program, ensuring accurate reporting of the Council's land and property portfolio for accounting purposes.
- Review the portfolio to support the wider team in ensuring it meets service and council needs, and assist in identifying sites for improvement to support the Council's Carbon Neutral 2030 target.
We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced surveyor with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification experience in property management. You will have a strong understanding of CIPFA rules and experience in delivering asset valuations for accounting purposes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as negotiation skills, are essential.
