Overview of the Role

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced midwife to join our dedicated team. As a Maternity Care Midwife, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to women and their babies, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled and compassionate midwifery care to women and their babies, adhering to Trust policies and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Conduct antenatal and postnatal assessments, identifying and addressing any concerns or complications.
  • Support women in their choices of place of birth and care, promoting autonomy and informed decision-making.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of best practices and policies.

Requirements

  • Registered midwife with the NMC, eligible to practice.
  • Demonstrable experience in maternity care, with a strong understanding of midwifery principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
