Antenatal Ward Core Midwife Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Antenatal Core Team Midwife to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to patients on the Antenatal Ward, working closely with other midwives, support workers, ward clerks, cleaners, and doctors.
Main Responsibilities
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing expert care to patients with a variety of antenatal complications, including raised blood pressure, PV bleeding, pre-term rupture of membranes, unstable lie at term, and induction of labour.
- Working effectively within a large multidisciplinary team, demonstrating excellent communication and teamworking skills.
- Supporting more junior staff and students to develop their knowledge and skills.
- Participating in weekly huddles and taking on lead roles for specific areas, requiring a deeper understanding of certain topics and supporting other staff.
- Rotating across all areas within the acute unit to ensure confidence working in all areas and participating in the unit on-call rota.

Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have:
- RM and eligible to practice.
- Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills.
- Sound knowledge of recent Government/Professional documents with awareness of implications to service provision.
- Able to demonstrate motivation to maintain professional development.
- Ability to work within acute and primary health care settings.
