About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, you will play a key role in providing psychiatric input to children and young people referred to CAMHS registered with GPs in Gloucestershire.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric input to children and young people referred to CAMHS, working in treatment clinics with multi-disciplinary colleagues to deliver general CAMHS intervention or more specialist team work such as neurodevelopmental work.
  • Deliver medication clinics and participate in multi-disciplinary groups to discuss ongoing work, work planning, and case discussion.
  • Meet regularly with the team to discuss ongoing work and contribute to multi-disciplinary team work, including supervision of junior staff.
  • Support the development of areas of clinical and professional development in keeping with service delivery, as well as your own personal development.
Requirements
  • Medical Degree and Full GMC Registration
  • GMC Specialist Register in Child Psychiatry or Learning Disability or within 6 Months of qualifying
  • Experience in research, training, or public understanding of psychiatry
  • Prior teaching experience at under-graduate and post-graduate level
  • Strategic thinker with leadership skills and ability to motivate others to contribute to improving child and adolescent mental health
