About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing psychiatric oversight and clinical leadership to our multidisciplinary teams, working with children and young people referred to CAMHS registered with GPs in Gloucestershire.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric input to children and young people referred to CAMHS, working in treatment clinics with multi-disciplinary colleagues to deliver general CAMHS interventions or specialist team work such as neurodevelopmental work.
- Deliver medication clinics and participate in regular multi-disciplinary groups to discuss ongoing work, work planning, and case discussion.
- Meet with the functional groups of clinicians regularly for work planning and discussion, and contribute to the development of areas of clinical and professional development in keeping with service delivery.
Requirements
- Medical Degree and Full GMC Registration
- GMC Specialist Register in Child Psychiatry or Learning Disability, or within 6 months of qualifying
- Experience in research, training, or public understanding of psychiatry, and completion of recent audit
- Prior teaching experience at undergraduate and postgraduate level, and evidence of participation in delivering excellent teaching for medical undergraduates
- Strategic thinker with leadership skills, able to demonstrate and motivate others to contribute to improving child and adolescent mental health
