Role Overview:

CSG is seeking a highly skilled Technical Waste Assessor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all incoming and outgoing waste is correctly classified and that an auditable trail of records is maintained according to site procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all waste is correctly classified and that an auditable trail of records is maintained.
  • Follow site pre-acceptance, acceptance, sampling, and compatibility procedures to technically assess waste enquiries.
  • Ensure all information required for quoting, transport, and acceptance is logged on the system.
  • Liaise closely with the Central Customer Services, Sales, and Operational functions to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
  • Advise on transport, labelling, and consignment note requirements.
  • Assist with the maintenance and control of the site management systems, including document control, preparation of data, and attending reviews where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Degree or HNC in chemistry.
  • Knowledge of waste-related legislation, including Hazardous Waste Regulations, PPC, and ADR.
  • Understanding of how to classify hazardous waste for disposal and transport.
  • Excellent organiser and communicator.
  • Committed, flexible, and pragmatic team player.
  • Professional approach.
  • Problem Solver.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Numerate with an understanding of business costing.
  • Profit and service-focused.
  • Ability to remain independent from both sales and operations.
  • Working knowledge of the operation of Waste Treatment Processing Plant.
  • Good working knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
  • Working knowledge of internal and external documentation requirements.
  • Experience of Salesforce or similar system.
  • Knowledge of TFS (trans-frontier shipment) desirable but not essential.
