Job Title: Theatre Scrub Practitioner - Nights

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position working 13 shifts per 4 weeks, with opportunities for part-time work. You will be required to work a variety of shifts, including nights, and must be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality perioperative care to patients, based on a sound evidence base.
  • Provide skilled clinical assistance to surgical, anaesthetic, and recovery teams.
  • Undertake and document comprehensive, systematic, and accurate perioperative care assessments of patients.
  • Lead a perioperative team to manage a group of patients throughout a shift.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience in the perioperative environment. You must have scrub experience in emergency specialties, including general, gynaecology, urology, and trauma, as well as recovery experience. You must also be a registered general nurse and/or registered operating department practitioner, with evidence of continuing professional development.

We value candidates who are able to work under pressure, have positive working relationships, and can demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills, and expertise. You must also be able to provide and receive complex and sensitive information, understanding the barriers to effective communication.
