Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Service Unit Manager to lead our Nursing team in the Faster Diagnostic service. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to make a positive impact on patient care and pathways.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective operational management of the department, including budget control, clinical governance, staff development, and training. They will champion quality, patient safety, and experience, acting as an advocate for patients.

Main Responsibilities

The role involves managing from a clinical, operational, and staff aspect. The Service Unit Manager will work with wider MDTs, both clinical and non-clinical teams, to support 28-day faster diagnostic and cancer pathways.

Key duties include maximising the use of clinical resources, implementing best practice in patient flow, diagnostic test prescription, and discharge. This requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to analyse complex data and findings.
