Job Summary

NHS England is seeking an experienced advanced practitioner to join the Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice as a Training Programme Director. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development of advanced practice training across the region, working closely with universities, trusts, and supervisors to create a safe learning environment for trainees.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee and advise on advanced practice specialty-specific matters regionally and nationally.
  • Support recruitment to advanced practice training posts and programmes, and manage trainee/trainer concerns.
  • Use educational resources to support learners within programmes to fulfill their full potential.
  • Advanced Practice programme management, including assessments, progression, support, and remediation, trainee management, careers support, and less than full-time training.

About the Role

The Training Programme Director will work closely with the Regional Faculty for Advancing Practice to support the implementation of the NHSE Quality Framework, emphasizing the importance and promoting the development of a quality learning environment for all learners.

Person Specification

  • Essential qualifications: Educated to Masters' level, or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a specialist area and healthcare leadership.
  • Essential knowledge and experience: Extensive knowledge and understanding of the national advancing practice agenda, experience of bringing and supporting advanced practice trainees into a healthcare setting, and an understanding of AP roles within a range of healthcare settings from all professional groups.
  • Essential skills, capabilities, and attributes: Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrable leadership skills, and a strong sense of vision and ability to innovate.
