Job Summary

The Visiting Professor of Business position at Widener University offers a unique opportunity for an accomplished academic to join our esteemed faculty. This role involves teaching undergraduate courses in general business, accounting, and finance, with a focus on creating a positive learning environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities

  • Teach four courses per semester, including Principles of Accounting, Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Corporate Finance.
  • Maintain office hours to provide academic support and advising to students.
  • Engage in school and university service, including faculty meetings and committees.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that supports diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Participate in school assessment and curriculum development activities.
  • Stay current with developments in the field to ensure course content remains relevant and up-to-date.
  • Participate in school-related recruiting and retention activities.

Requirements

To be considered for this appointment, applicants must have a Master's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field, demonstrated teaching ability, and strong commitment to teaching excellence and student engagement. Previous teaching experience and professional experience in business, accounting, or finance are also required. Familiarity with online teaching platforms and technology-enhanced learning is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Widener University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
