Job Summary

We are seeking an Emotional Wellbeing Teaching Assistant to support students with SEMH needs in a School based in Harrogate. The successful candidate will have not only a strong set of skills to support children with advanced needs, but also have qualities and experience that are at an advanced level.

About the Role

This is a full-time permanent position, Monday - Friday (8:30am - 3:30pm). The ideal candidate will assist with lesson planning, pupil achievements, and individual/small groups learning activities. They will also support children's independence, confidence, social, emotional, and physical development in a safe learning environment.

Requirements

  • Recent and relevant experience working with children and young people in an educational setting.
  • Experience working with children with SEN and SEMH needs and ability to handle direct verbal language and extreme challenging behaviours.
  • Passion for education and welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Comfortable and flexible with adapted structure of learning both indoors and outdoors.
  • Comfortable with animals due to on-site animals supporting children's wellbeing.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
