Job Title: Theatre Scrub Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our team at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

About the Role

This is a permanent, full-time position (13 shifts per 4 weeks) or part-time (minimum of 2 x shifts) opportunity to work as a Theatre Scrub Practitioner. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to patients in the perioperative environment. You will also take charge of theatre as delegated by the Senior Team Leader for a specified period of time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality perioperative care without direct supervision, based on a sound evidence base.
  • Provide skilled clinical assistance to the surgical, anaesthetic, and recovery teams.
  • Undertake and document a comprehensive, systematic, and accurate perioperative care assessment of the physical, social, and spiritual needs of the patient where appropriate.
  • Lead a perioperative team to manage a group of patients throughout a shift.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a minimum of 12 months post-registration experience within the perioperative environment. You should have scrub experience within emergency specialty, including general, gynae, urology, and trauma, as well as recovery experience. You must be a Registered General Nurse and/or Registered Operating Department Practitioner with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
