Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a forward-thinking recruitment agency, seeks an experienced Approved Mental Health Practitioner to join their Adult Social Care Services team in Pembrokeshire. This permanent position offers a competitive salary of up to £43,421 per annum.

The ideal candidate will possess a professional Social Work qualification or equivalent and have maintained Approved Mental Health Act practitioner status. They will be responsible for autonomously assessing and taking action in relation to assessment and care planning, in line with relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To plan, negotiate, and manage compulsory admission to hospital or supervised community treatment, making sensitive decisions that consider the needs of service users.
  • To initiate the deployment of resources to meet assessed needs in emergencies, assess the feasibility of care options, and contribute effectively to planning and implementing them.
  • To manage legal and practical processes, involving other professionals, service users, relatives, and carers, and complete statutory documentation as required.
  • To provide social services to vulnerable client groups and situations, ensuring the liberty and safety of service users and the public.

Requirements for this role include:

  • A professional Social Work qualification or equivalent.
  • Maintenance of Approved Mental Health Act practitioner status through relevant training.
  • Understanding of children and young people's needs and their impact on AMHP practice.
