About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our inpatient mental health team at Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality psychological interventions to patients recovering from mental health illnesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver different forms of psychological interventions to patients in individual or group settings, under the supervision of a qualified Clinical Psychologist.
  • Support the Clinical Psychologists in preparation of team formulation sessions, completing file reviews, and disseminating formulation.
  • Facilitate group work, including psychoeducation, CBT, DBT, and ACT-informed sessions, and co-facilitate groups with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Facilitate individual psychological work under the supervision of the Clinical Psychologist.
  • Carry out Brief Psychological Interventions, including Anxiety Management, Behavioural Activation, and Distress Tolerance, as indicated.
  • Support completion of Cognitive Screening assessments and detailed neuro-psychological assessments, as required.
Requirements
  • Upper-second class honours degree or higher in psychology.
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Experience of working with adults with mental health difficulties, delivering psychologically informed groups, and practical working knowledge of at least one relevant psychological approach, such as CBT.
