About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Clinical Psychologist Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work within our inpatient mental health psychology service, collaborating with psychologists, psychiatrists, junior doctors, OTs, nurses, social workers, and physiotherapists in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver different forms of psychological interventions to patients recovering from mental health illnesses in individual or group settings.
  • Support Clinical Psychologists in preparation of team formulation sessions, completing file reviews, and disseminating formulation.
  • Facilitate group work, including psychoeducation, CBT, DBT, and ACT informed sessions, potentially co-facilitating groups with other MDT members.
  • Facilitate individual psychological work under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologist.
  • Carry out Brief Psychological Interventions, including Anxiety Management, Behavioural Activation, and Distress Tolerance, as indicated.
  • Support completion of Cognitive Screening assessments and detailed neuro-psychological assessments, as necessary.
Requirements
  • Upper-second class honours degree or higher in psychology.
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
  • Recognise people's right to privacy and dignity, treating every person with respect.
  • Willingness to be flexible in approach and attitude.
  • Ability to travel.
