Job Title: Contract Manager

Yunex Traffic is seeking a highly skilled Contract Manager to join our Services team based at our Leicester Depot. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of Traffic Signal Installation schemes across the region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the management of Traffic Signal Installation schemes, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met.
  • Manage a medium-sized team of 'on Street' operatives and supervisors, ensuring Health and Safety objectives, quality, and project delivery timescales are met.
  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of team activities.
  • Work closely with contractors and supply chain partners to ensure efficient and cost-effective services are delivered.
  • Perform performance management and development of team members' skills through setting objectives, targets, and ongoing reviews.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Finance partners to manage scheme costs and mitigate financial risk.
  • Produce and manage monthly financial forecasts.
  • Manage a wide portfolio of projects simultaneously, varying in value from £10K to £500K.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, including Tendering Managers, Regional Sales Managers, and Commercial partners.
  • Be actively involved in business improvement initiatives and projects, both locally and nationally.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in Project Management, ideally in highways, traffic signals, or section 278 works.
  • Appreciation of or experience in highways and traffic signal infrastructure.
  • Able to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings.
  • Understanding of Street works permitting and Traffic Management requirements.
  • Good understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment legislation/procedures (IOSH/NEBOSH).
  • Management or supervisory experience in a technical position (electrical, highway, traffic management, civil/mechanical engineering, IT/comms infrastructure).
  • Contract/Commercial knowledge.
  • Good knowledge of IT systems/software.
  • Excellent communication and organization/planning skills.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
  • Understanding of project management principles.
