Job Title: Utilities Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Utilities Engineer to join our team at the Port of Dover, a global gateway that connects trade, travel, and communities locally and globally. As the UK's busiest international ferry port, we handle £144 billion of trade per year, 33% of UK trade in goods with the EU, and welcome over 11 million passengers annually.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the compliant, safe, and reliable operation and maintenance of the Ports' potable water, sewage, and surface water systems and equipment. This includes delivering all necessary maintenance activities, leading on fault diagnosis and remedial works, and overseeing new installations and modifications to water and sewage systems.

About the Role:
  • Ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of water and sewage systems
  • Deliver project improvement and innovation works to improve asset reliability, performance, and functionality
  • Actively own the asset portfolio, planning and delivering small works replacement projects for life-expired assets
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. Time-serviced Utilities Engineer/Commercial Plumbing through Apprenticeship or College route
  2. City & Guilds, ONC/HNC minimum in Mechanical/Plumbing systems
  3. Extensive experience in operating and maintaining portable water distribution systems and associated assets
  4. Extensive knowledge of portable water quality control sampling and measures, including undertaking corrective actions to maintain wholesome drinking water
  5. Working knowledge of The Drinking Water Standards and Regulations
  6. Experience in delivering Small Works asset replacement and improvement projects

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
