About the Role

Polaris Community is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Childcare Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Daily Routines: Assist with daily routines, including getting the young people up, promoting personal hygiene, meals, and activities.
  • Develop Life Skills: Support the development of life skills, independence, and socialization, while promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Attend Appointments: Accompany young people to medical and other appointments as needed.
  • Plan Activities: Support the planning and implementation of activities that promote socialization, education, and personal growth.
  • Document Progress: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
Requirements
  • Flexibility: Be available to work varied shifts, including sleep-in nights and up to 14 hours per shift.
  • Understanding of Young People's Issues: Have a good understanding of the challenges faced by young people in care.
  • Qualifications: Hold a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Teamwork: Be able to work effectively as part of a small team.
  • DBS Check: Be willing to undergo a DBS check at enhanced level.
  • Driving License: Hold a full, clean UK driving license.
