Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Press Officer to join our Communications team at the Royal Opera House. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants to further their career in press and campaign delivery.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of working within a busy press office/communications team, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to demonstrate expertise in media relations strategy and have a broad understanding of the operational needs of large scale organisations.

This role involves delivering proactive campaigns that make an impact and help enhance the reputation and profile of the work on our stages. The ideal candidate will be able to grasp key issues quickly and deal effectively with complex situations at short notice.

We are looking for a strong team player who has an extensive media contacts book and is an effective relationship manager. Prior experience in an arts (dance, and music preferred) or media organisation will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective media relations strategies to promote the work of the Royal Opera House.
  • Build and maintain relationships with artists, PRs and agents.
  • Deliver high-quality press releases, statements and other communications materials.
  • Monitor and respond to media enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with the Communications team to ensure consistency and accuracy of messaging across all channels.
