Radiology Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a key member of our Radiology Department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of excellent healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist Consultant Radiologists and other specialist clinicians during Diagnostic, Interventional, and Therapeutic procedures, maintaining patient care and dignity at all times.
- Provide nursing care, advice, and information to patients attending the department, explaining alternative treatment options and procedures.
- Undertake observations of patients receiving Radiology procedures, acting on any changes or deterioration in patient condition.
- Assist in therapeutic treatments with limited supervision and participate in emergency procedures/treatment.
- Provide help and instruction to other members of staff within the Directorate, being approachable, empathic, and supportive.
- Assist the Clinical Nurse in investigating complaints and concerns.
- Participate in auditing, supporting, and implementing changes in patient care through research and evidence-based practice.
- Share judgmental skills in the delivery of patient care and make suggestions towards service improvement.
- Relay confidential patient condition information to colleagues, other hospital departments, and external organizations.
- Registered Adult Nurse with a current NMC registration.
- Willingness to complete a competency framework to scrub independently.
- Evidence of continued professional development and post-registration study and training.
- Experience in providing supervision to staff and working in a Radiology Department.
- Welsh speaker (Level 1).
