Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commissioning Engineer - SWO to join our team at BAE Systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for testing mechanical elements of the launcher & SWSS equipment, Fluid & Air systems, Nitrogen, Water, and Hydraulics etc., and supporting at sea trials.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on Strategic Weapon Systems, a specialist area with unique design and challenges.

You will have the chance to collaborate with US contractors and Government, with potential travel to the US. We offer relocation support across all Submarine roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

About the Role

As a Senior Commissioning Engineer - SWO, you will be working closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth operation of our systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To carry out routine work with limited supervision in a high-risk environment.
  • Liaise/Interface with relevant stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken in a safe & compliant manner.
  • Instruct & mentor less experienced members of the team within your knowledge & competency.
  • Responsible for research, review & feedback of appropriate documentation to the required standard.
  • Keep full and accurate records of work activities carried out as required by policy, procedure & legislation.
What You'll Need

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in a related discipline or STEM subject.
  • Previous Strategic Weapons System knowledge.
  • Control of works (Safety) knowledge.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft packages & company-specific software.
