About the Role

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team in a prison setting. As a key member of our multi-disciplined healthcare team, you will provide individualized care for patients in a health and justice environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage substance misuse services
  • Conduct reception screening and provide agreed care packages
  • Undertake physical health observations and clinics, including Phlebotomy, ECG, NHS health checks, and sexual health services
  • Participate in health promotion activities

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • Hold a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or be currently studying in the final year of a degree in nursing
    • Demonstrate experience working with people with complex health needs in a health or social care setting
    • Knowledge of nursing standards gained through NVQ qualification or equivalent experience
    • Understanding and application of confidentiality
  • Desirable:
    • Knowledge or experience working within a prison or secured environment setting
    • Experience in responding to emergency situations
    • Experience in using SystmOne
    • Experience working with individuals with Substance Misuse needs
