Lancaster Cancer Center is an independent Oncology/Hematology practice seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Specialist. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing charts, coordinating the release of medical records, obtaining and scanning documents, and ensuring HIPAA compliance. We require strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. Prior experience in a medical office environment is essential.

About the Job

This role involves a variety of tasks, including chart preparation, release of medical records, document scanning, and HIPAA compliance. You will work closely with our team to ensure accurate and timely completion of patient charts and maintain confidentiality and protect patient information.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Chart Preparation: Prepare patient charts for review and processing.
  2. Release of Medical Records: Coordinate the release of medical records to insurance companies and other authorized parties.
  3. Document Scanning: Obtain and scan documents from various hospital systems into our EMR system.
  4. HIPAA Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is between $48,000 - $65,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
