Lead Our Newsroom Team

Radio News Hub is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our talented team of journalists from our state-of-the-art studios in Leeds City Centre. As Head of News, you will be responsible for guiding our team towards excellence in content creation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop our newsroom team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Work closely with Senior Journalists and the Head of Programming to drive content strategy and development.
  • Ensure high-quality content is delivered to over 400 radio stations, meeting their hourly bulletin requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships across the business, promoting a culture of creativity and excellence.
  • Make informed decisions under pressure, balancing the needs of the team and the business.

Requirements:

  • At least five years of experience in a radio newsroom, with a proven track record of leadership and content creation.
  • Excellent people skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong decision-making skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • A clear understanding of the role's demands, including flexibility and adaptability.
  • Able to demonstrate the legal right to work in the UK and hold a full UK driving licence.
