Job Title: Head of News

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of News to lead our team of journalists at Radio News Hub. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our news strategy, ensuring that our content is of the highest quality and meets the needs of our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive news strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives
  • Lead and manage a team of journalists, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and resources needed to produce high-quality content
  • Work closely with the Senior Journalists and Head of Programming to ensure that our news content is integrated with our programming schedule
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that our news content is aligned with the company's overall brand and messaging
  • Monitor and analyze audience feedback and ratings to inform content decisions
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior news leadership role, preferably in a radio or broadcast environment
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail
  • Strong understanding of the radio industry and the needs of our audience
