Job Description

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead News Editor to join our team at Radio News Hub. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of our news strategy, ensuring that our content meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive news strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives
  • Lead a team of journalists and editors to produce high-quality news content for our radio stations
  • Collaborate with our Senior Journalists and Head of Programming to ensure that our content meets the needs of our audience
  • Manage the production of hourly bulletins, ensuring that they are accurate, engaging, and meet the required standards
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our radio station partners to ensure that our content meets their needs
  • Recruit, train, and develop a team of journalists and editors to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge required to produce high-quality content
  • Manage the budget for news production, ensuring that we are operating within our means

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a senior editorial role, preferably in a radio news environment
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
