Volunteer Recovery Practitioner

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Recovery Practitioner to join our team at VIA in Surrey. As a key member of our community support team, you will play a vital role in engaging and developing sustained contact with adult High Impact Complex Drinkers within the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide alcohol awareness and harm minimization advice to service users
  • Support practitioners in completing service-user assessments and follow-up assessments
  • Meet with service users in their own homes with a recovery practitioner
  • Assist service users in accessing wider services, including completing referrals to onward agencies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a positive attitude, a non-judgmental and supportive approach to people facing problems with drugs and alcohol, and a passion for the work that we do. While some knowledge of the sector is desirable, we are looking for people who are eager to learn and develop their experience in the drug and alcohol field.

Commitment
