About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled software engineer to join our team as a Trust and Safety Software Engineer - AI Systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining safety and oversight mechanisms for our AI systems. Your primary focus will be on developing systems to detect and prevent unwanted behaviors, ensuring the integrity and security of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement monitoring systems to detect and prevent unwanted behaviors from our API partners and take automated enforcement actions as needed.
  • Develop abuse detection mechanisms and infrastructure to ensure the security of our financial systems.
  • Collaborate with our research teams to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities in our AI systems.
  • Build robust and reliable multi-layered defenses to prevent unauthorized access and ensure the integrity of our financial systems.
  • Analyze user reports of suspicious activity and take appropriate action to prevent further incidents.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-10+ years of experience in a software engineering position, preferably with a focus on security, integrity, and abuse detection.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience building trust and safety mechanisms for AI/ML systems, such as fraud detection models or security monitoring tools.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks like Scikit-Learn, Tensorflow, or Pytorch, and experience building machine learning models.
  • Experience with prompt engineering, jailbreak attacks, and other adversarial inputs.
  • Experience working closely with operational teams to build custom internal tooling.

  • Annual Salary: £265,000 — £370,000 GBP
