Safety Critical Software Principal Engineer

Job Title: Safety Critical Software Principal Engineer

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Competitive

Location: Hybrid available

Hours of Work: Up to 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead safety-critical software engineering teams to ensure delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  2. Advise on the development and testing of safety-critical software and programmable systems to meet industry standards.
  3. Develop and execute delivery plans to meet time, cost, and quality requirements.
  4. Mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  5. Liaise with sales teams to support bidding for new projects and business development.

Requirements:

  1. Experience as a technical leader with a degree-level qualification in computer science, mathematics, science, or engineering.
  2. Chartership status or working towards it.
  3. Knowledge of design, development, and testing of embedded software.
  4. Experience applying standards in safety or mission-critical industries (IECs, DEF-STANs).
  5. Experience of the development and testing of software, logic devices, and complex electronic hardware systems.
