Job Title: Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to work with our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with mental health needs. As a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with a range of mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose patients with mental health conditions, developing and implementing treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care and effective communication.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health services for children and adolescents, working closely with other teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in education and training, sharing expertise and knowledge with junior staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in research and audit, contributing to the improvement of mental health services and outcomes for children and adolescents.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for Specialist Register in Psychiatry with the General Medical Council.
  • Experience of working with children and adolescents with mental health needs, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Strong clinical skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to provide clinical leadership and contribute to the development of mental health services.
