Job Title: Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Consultant to lead our Child and Adolescent Psychiatry service. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to children and adolescents with mental health needs, as well as leading and managing a team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care and effective management of patient pathways.
  • Develop and implement clinical strategies to improve patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of trust-wide policies and procedures.
  • Participate in education and training of junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in research and audit activities to improve patient care and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
  • Experience of working in a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry service.
  • Excellent clinical and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to changing priorities.
