Project Sustainability Advisor - North of England
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Sustainability Advisor to join our sustainability team. As a key member of our team, you will provide detailed support to our Civil Engineering projects in the north of England, ensuring environmental compliance and sustainability in the construction process.
In this role, you will work closely with project teams to identify and communicate environmental and sustainability risks and opportunities, conduct site inspections, and maintain environmental compliance. You will also assist with the development and preparation of sustainability management reports for internal and client reporting.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental and sustainability principles, with up to 3 years of experience in a similar role. You will possess excellent organizational, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to problem solve and work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide sustainability and environmental advice to project teams, including delivery of appropriate training
- Conduct site inspections and maintain environmental compliance, assisting with external audits and the application for, completion, and implementation of environmental consents and permits
- Identify and communicate environmental and sustainability risks and opportunities on our projects
- Assist in the development and preparation of sustainability management reports for internal and client reporting
- Assist in the maintenance and review of the sustainability management system
- Assist in providing sustainability input to tenders and project mobilisation
Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- Up to 3 years of environmental experience, ideally with some understanding of a construction environment or similar
- Relevant degree and/or professional qualification
- Strong organizational, communication, influencing, and engagement skills, with the ability to problem solve
- Flexibility to travel in the north of the UK
Additionally, affiliate IEMA membership or above, internal environmental auditor, and/or incident investigation training would be desirable.
