We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team at BAM Nuttall. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, you will play a crucial role in providing environmental management support to our project teams and working across the Alliance teams to develop and implement processes and procedures to deliver an effective environment management strategy.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work on the TRU West project, a transformative, long-term railway infrastructure program that will improve connectivity in the North. As an Environmental Sustainability Specialist, your mission will be to:

  • Embed yourself with the specific design and construction team from concept design through to delivery
  • Work with the project and sustainability teams to embed the Network Rail standard; NR/L2/ENV/015 'Environment and Social Minimum Requirements'
  • Check compliance of all works against the Environment and Social Management Plans and (ESMP)
  • Draft and implement site-specific Waste Management Plans
  • Undertake site inspections as necessary and complete the Environment and Social Risk Assessments
  • Ensure compliance with the Construction Phase ESMP and the existing Site Waste Management Plan
  • Raise Close Calls, both constructive and positive for improving environmental and safety performance on site
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce energy and water usage at our sites
  • Undertake monthly KPI data collation and submission to the Client
  • Work with the Social Management team to deliver community activities including work experiences, talks at schools etc
  • Energy and environment auditing
  • Delivering energy management activities to reduce energy use and associated carbon
  • Monitor, manage and help reduce water, waste and energy
