Job Title: Support Worker

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Support Worker to join our team at St Basils. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing holistic support and guidance to young people with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments to identify areas for support and development.
  2. Develop and implement personalized support plans to promote engagement and empowerment.
  3. Provide non-judgmental and person-centered support to young people, utilizing a range of approaches to promote positive relationships and outcomes.
  4. Support young people to sustain tenancies, manage their lives, and access education, training, and employment opportunities.
  5. Facilitate access to relevant support services, including mental health, social care, and substance misuse services.
  6. Advocate on behalf of young people to ensure their rights and responsibilities are respected.
  7. Provide practical support, such as budgeting, debt advice, and benefit claims, to maximize young people's income.
  8. Assist young people to improve their life skills, including cooking healthy meals and managing finances.
  9. Scope out local services and support young people to make connections with the community.
  10. Maintain accurate records and work independently to manage a caseload.
Requirements:
  • GCSE A-C Grade in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • NVQ 3 in Advice and Guidance, Health and Social Care, or other relevant subject.
  • Experience of working with young people with complex needs.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of welfare rights and resources.
  • Ability to use initiative and proactively seek out services to meet the needs of young people.
Desirable:
  • Youth Work or Social Work degree.
  • Valid driving license and car user.
