We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join our Meiosis group at the MRC Laboratory of Medical Sciences.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in an area of the Life Sciences and extensive experience with basic molecular biology experimental approaches.

The main goal of the project is to investigate how different protein complexes control the three-dimensional organization and function of meiotic chromosomes to ensure fertility in the nematode C. elegans.

The ideal candidate will have a strong publication record and exposure to scientific meetings, as well as excellent verbal communication skills in English and the ability to deal with a wide range of people.

Promising candidates will have the ability to conduct reproducible research, a creative approach to problem-solving, and advanced computer skills, including word-processing, spreadsheets and the Internet.

This role requires a flexible attitude towards work, including a willingness to work out of normal working hours (including weekends) if the requirements of the project demand.
