About the Job:
We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Nurse to join our team as a Disability Assessor. This challenging yet rewarding role requires a strong understanding of physical and mental health conditions, as well as chronic pain disorders. As a Nurse Functional Assessor, you will work on complex cases, conducting telephone, video, or face-to-face assessments to produce Work Capability Assessment (WCA) reports for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. You will be supported by our comprehensive training program and ongoing mentorship to ensure your success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine the impact of a person's disability or health condition on their daily life
- Produce high-quality WCA reports to inform benefit eligibility decisions
- Develop and maintain your clinical knowledge and assessment skills with regular feedback and supervision
Requirements:
- A valid NMC registration number
- At least one year of post-registration adult or mental health experience within or outside the NHS
- The right to work in the UK is essential
- Excellent communication and computer skills
