We are seeking a highly skilled Independent Safety Auditor to enhance our safety engineering initiatives within the Defence sector. This role is crucial in ensuring that safety engineering practices align with regulatory standards, are executed as planned, and meet operational requirements. You will become part of a dedicated and expanding team that serves Defence clients across various air domains, including fixed-wing, rotary, and autonomous systems. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the evolution of RINA's ISA capabilities, delivering top-tier safety advisory services to the Defence industry.
The role can be performed from various locations, and RINA promotes a flexible working environment, allowing for smart and hybrid work arrangements. While moderate travel across the UK is expected, residing within commuting distance of an office is not a strict requirement. We are open to considering part-time arrangements as well.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead diverse ISA projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with quality standards;
- Manage project teams or work independently to achieve project goals;
- Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals, and comprehensive reports;
- Advocate for RINA's safety capabilities, providing expert advice through direct engagement, relationship development, and presentations;
- Collaborate with the safety management team to enhance safety capabilities in response to evolving market needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A minimum of ten years' experience in delivering safety engineering management solutions, with a focus on ISA initiatives;
- Proficient in managing complex safety assessments across various air platforms and systems;
- Familiarity with UK MOD air platforms and the procurement process;
- Experience with Safety Engineering tools such as Reliability Workbench, ASCE, BowTie, ETA, or FTA;
- Knowledge of Defence Standards, including Def Stan 00-056 and Def Stan 00-51;
- Some understanding of ASEMS, POSMS, and POEMS processes;
- An engineering background is essential;
- Ideally, candidates will possess UK Security Clearance or be willing to undergo the vetting process.
